Matthew 11:28-30 New Living Translation
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
Resting in Christ is the most peaceful place to be. The problem is too many of us just can't seem to lay it all down. It's a practice that has to be re-learned over and over, every day.
While we work on that, I thought I would share about a Place to Rest if you ever have to go to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. It is sponsored by my church, The Church of the Nazarene. But it isn't exclusive. Anyone can stay there. It's called the Nazarene Well House.
It's a beautiful bed & breakfast specifically for Mayo patients and their families. They have 13 bedrooms (a few of them private). There is a lovely garden to enjoy or, if you like, you can work in the garden. They serve breakfast every morning and several dinners are provided during the week by local restaurants.

What a wonderful ministry to offer!
ReplyDeleteOh, what a beautiful gift of hospitality! I longed for something like this when my husband was receiving treatment a thousand miles from home in Sam Francisco. May God continue to bless the ministry!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. Iwent to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville and wished their was something like this. But have had friends that benefited from the Rochester home.
DeleteRest is not an easy one for me but I am working on it. Thanks for sharing about your church's ministry house as well!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful ministry. I know we greatly appreciated the Ronald McDonald house many years ago when my oldest son was a baby in NICU. Makes things so much nicer when accommodations isn't a concern
